ART IS FOR EVERYONE

ART IS FOR EVERYONE

All skill levels are welcome at Open Studio Art School. The only requirement is the desire to learn and challenge yourself. Our classes are kept small allowing for more one to one tuition in the group setting. Term classes are held in a private studio in Rostrevor, while short courses and social nights are held in various locations around Adelaide.
Everyone can draw, but improving skill requires commitment and practice. Our classes focus on helping students to observe more closely, in order to understand how to translate three dimensional subjects into two dimensional artworks on paper or canvas.
We encourage students to move beyond "symbolic drawing" (what they know) toward more realistic representation (what they see).
We offer tuition across a wide range of mediums including pencil, charcoal, watercolour, pastels, oils , acrylic, pen and gouache.
We believe that learning is most effective when its personally meaningful. That's why we encourage students to pursue projects that excite them, and to find their inspiration in a broad range of subjects and materials.

All classes are designed to let students explore areas of learning that interest them the most.
Classes run in 8 week terms and each class is 70 minutes. Class numbers are capped at 7 students. Students have access to a broad range of techniques and mediums to try.
Classes are for children aged 9+.
Students are guided in the areas that interest them in a relaxed and friendly setting
