TERMS AND CONDITIONS - OPEN STUDIO ART SCHOOL,  CHILDREN’S ART CLASSES

• Students must not be dropped to classes more than 5 minutes before the start of class.  Parents/guardians are not to collect students early ( unless by prior arrangement) as this is disruptive to the class.
   
• Students must choose to attend classes themselves, not because a parent or  
  guardian chooses it for them.
   
• Students must be able to work independently.
   
• Students must participate in group structured classes when they are offered.
   
• Parents/guardians/family are NOT permitted to stay during the class- enrolled students and staff only are permitted while the class is running.
   
• References saved on a student’s tablet, or as a printed image, are preferred for use in the classroom. Phones are not to be used in the classroom for reference, as they are too small to provide a clear overall image to work from. There are a limited number of books and tablets available for students to use during class time. The school does not provide internet access for students to use on their own tablets during the class, only for the class tablets. Students should save their image on their own  tablet prior to the class. Students own tablets, phones and personal items are the responsibility of the student only. The school will not be held responsible for a student’s misplaced or damaged items.
   
• All children's classes run for 70 minutes.

• Students MUST be aged 9 or over to attend classes.
   
• Students  are expected to bring their own visual diary,  HB, 2B, 6B pencil, and eraser  to class each week. Most other materials are provided for students, but any specialist materials a student wishes to use - ie, sculpey,  clay , stretched canvas, air brushing paints and equipment- must be provided by the student.  
   
• Classes must be used in the same term they are purchased for - no missed classes will carry over to the next term (unless a class is cancelled by the school)
   
• If a student is unable to attend their regular class- they can do a make up lesson in another class if cancelled in advance. Just let us know what class they would like to attend and we will try to accommodate them, numbers permitting.  REFUNDS WILL NOT BE GIVEN FOR CLASSES THAT ARE MISSED BY STUDENTS. Refunds or transfers will only be given if the school cancels a class.
   
• As spaces are limited, if any student is absent for 3 weeks or more without explanation, the school reserves the right to offer that space to another student with no refund offered. To avoid this, please advise the school if a student will be absent for a week or more, so that their space will be held.
   
• Students must act respectfully toward the other students and staff in the classes at all times. Students are not to photograph other students,  or draw on/mark /photograph another student’s work.  
   
• All terms must be paid for in full before the term begins.
   
• NEW STUDENTS- If a new student does not wish to continue after the first class, a refund can be requested for the remainder of the term minus the cost of the single class. No refunds will be given past the first week of term.
   
• Open Studio Art School  has the right to refuse or cancel enrolment of students if they and/or their parents/guardians are in breach of guidelines.
